After the big success of the percussion journey in 2008 - 2011 we kick off again in 2012!
The well-known percussionists Benham and Reza Samani offer a one-week percussion workshop at Lake Frauensee in Reutte/Tirol. This time there will be classes by Luca Rossi (tamburello and tammorra), David Kuckhermann (frame drums, riq and cajon) and Thórralf Schuh (irish bodhrán).

The workshop is a unique opportunity for all those who want to combine their passion for drumming, rhythm and ensemble playing with a short holiday in a beautiful landscape. The participants will discover, learn and check out new rhythms on typical Persian percussion instruments as Daf, Tombak and Udu.

ACCOMMODATION
is a unique location, beautifully situated at 1000 m above sea level, a quiet place to enjoy and swim in an idyllic lake, surrounded by mountains and forests inviting you to do walks and excursions.
The accommodation offers comfortable single and shared rooms with central heating and washing facilities (with shared toilets and showers). On the ground floor you find a big kitchen as well as a group room and a dining area with a lovely view of the lake and the mountains.

WORKSHOPS & ACTIVITIES
with Reza & Behnam Samani, David Kuckhermann, Luca Rossi and Thórralf Schuh:
– Four Days of Classes –

Beginners:
for beginners with knowledge on other instruments or experience with oriental rhythms, who want to get to know Daf, Udu and Tombak; basic drum playing techniques and presentation of several oriental rhythms.

Intermediates:
for intermediates who want to brush up and intensify their skills and increase their knowledge of rhythms and drum playing techniques Free musical activities in leisure time and in the evenings

Activities:
Apart working intensely on our musical skills we will be able to enjoy the location at lake Frauensee, discover the country setting, go hiking (hiking boots recommendable), swim in the lake, spend some time together or just relax in the sun. Only two or four kilometers away you find the villages Lechaschau and Reutte with shops and shopping mall, main station, taxi service, indoor or open air swimming-pool, sauna, post office, museum of local history, several inns and cafés. In the evenings we will spend our time together with music, songs and dance at the campfire.

DIRECTIONS

• From the Center of Reutte (Roundabout) follow B198 (Lechtal Street) to Lechaschau.
• On B198 over Lech-Bridge (behind the bridge you enter Lechaschau).
• Behind the bridge turn right into the second road (= L259, Village road); Village road and L259 split again after a left turn > please stay on L259 (straight) (Village road goes to the right).
• Follow L259 (= Wängler Street) quite a while, over the crossing with Pfarrweg stay straight, passing some junctions until you reach a fork.
• At the fork please turn right and follow until you reach a t-crossing.
• At this t-crossing please turn right on Ottilienweg – this ist he road leading up to Frauensee.
• Follow this road straight ahead, passing some junctions on the left and right, passing a little chapel on the left, straight to a small crossing.
• Go straight over this small crossing. The road will be accompanied by wood on the left side and it starts moving up a little, shortly after this a house on the left will be passed and you reach another fork.
• At this fork please stay left, road will turn to get more narrow, makes a move to the right and then uphill quite straight to kind of a roundabout.
• You leave the roundabout to the left and ignore this small junction to the right. It is not far from here!
• After the road turns a little tot he left, you move over a small hill and you see the residential training center on the right and the wonderful Frauensee (Lake Frauen) straight ahead.
• (Left you will recognize „Frauenseestube" – please do not park there but only at our residential training center!!!)

IMPORTANT: If you have problems finding a parking, park your car near our house and contact us to give aid!
